Prosecutor Ends Interrogation of Karen Hunanian

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Thursday was the final day that prosecutor Gagik Avetissian ended the interrogation regarding contradictions in the testimony of October 27 defendant Karen Hunanian. The defendant answered most of the prosecutor’s questions with–"objection–I will not answer this provocative question."

Hunanian insisted that he was continuously abused by law enforcement authorities while in custody–"from the very beginning the preliminary investigation until the present trial," and he continued to defend his "revolution" argument. "I was inciting a revolution. I do not regret my actions. I am a political figure," said K. Hunanian.

The next court hearing will be on January 7. The defendant will be interrogated by representatives of the victims’ legal successors.
