ROME (Armenpress)–Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov was quoted by Interfax saying that Russia has no intention of giving up its arms trade with Iran.
"Russia’supplies conventional weapons and hardware to Iran. This means armored vehicles and air-defense systems with limited effective range. These are straightforward commercial dealings and we won’t give them up," Ivanov said in a news conference in Rome on Tuesday.
He pointed out that there are no international restrictions on arms sales to Iran. "If Russia’stops selling weapons to Iran–dozens of other countries will take its place," he said.
