Prelate Elections in Canada Postponed

MONTREAL–The Prelacy of Canada convened it first National Representative Assembly–since becoming a separate Prelacy per an edict from His Holiness Aram I–Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia.

Following the election of the assembly chair–Aram I’s greeting message was read–in which he offered his blessings to the first NRA and suggested that the election of a Prelate for the region be held off until the conclusion of the World National Representative Assembly–slated for June 6 to 11 in Antelias–Lebanon.

After a discussion of the matter–the NRA delegates decided to adhere to the Catholicos’ suggestion and postpone the election of a Prelate.
