Javakhk Group Holds 7th Conference

JAVAKHK–Georgia–The seventh conference of the Popular Movement of Javakhk was held Saturday–with an emphasis on concerns regarding the socio-economic situation plaguing the Armenian populated region in southern Georgia.

Concerns about political escalation in the region were also addressed–as delegates each expressed concerns over the situation in Javakhk vis–vis developmen’s in Georgia.

Popular Movement leaders all addressed the conference. Also invited to speak was the chairman of the Virk party Davit Rstakian.

In conclusion of the meeting a new executive board comprised of 11 individuals was elected–with Norik Karapetian elected as president.

The latter also appointed his deputies Khatchatour Hovanesyan and Jora Saryan.

Another 25 members were elected to the organization’s leadership council.
