Karabakh Adopts State Property Privatization Program

STEPANAKERT (Noyan Tapan)–At the March 28 Nagorno Karabakh National Assembly session–the bill "On State Property Privatization for 2002-2003" was adopted. Introducing the bill–Arnold Abrahamian–the government plenipotentiary representative–said that out of 220 state properties only 14 have been privatized so far.

Many of the deputies emphasized that the principles of the privatization are vague. They also expressed concern in connection with the circumstance that the cost of the program has not been indicated–and the enterprises were enlisted without preliminary estimation. It should be mentioned that the ARF faction did not participate in the voting.
