NATO Scientific Programs Develop and Expand in Armenia

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The list of the themes in the 2002 scientific projects confirmed by NATO have significantly expanded. As scientific secretary of the Armenian NAS International Cooperation Council Karine Gevorgian said–on the basis of NATO’s gran’s the following projects will be carried out in the system of the Armenian NAS: 3 projects in the program of "Cooperation – Communication," 1 project in the program of "Science for Peace," 1 project in the program of "Computer Network Infrastructure," and 1 project concerning improvement in the sphere of science policy.

Some 11 Armenian scientists have received individual gran’s for carrying out work in NATO-member countries–and 32 scientists have been financially sponsored for participating in NATO arrangemen’s.
