Announcement Regarding Genocide Recognition

During recent meeting between the representatives of the three political parties working in the Western US–the Armenian Revolutionary Federation–the Social Democratic Hunchakian Party and the Armenian Democratic League [the Ramkavar Party]–the imperative of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide was addressed and the following conclusions were made:

1. Turkey–as the historic heir to the Ottoman Empire–which planned and executed the Armenian Genocide–not only has not accepted responsibility for the Armenian Genocide–but rather continues to deny it by utilizing inter-governmental relations.

2. Self-proclaimed efforts to weaken the pursuit of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and state-level irresponsible and treasonous announcemen’s–such as Israel’s characterization of the Armenian Genocide as a "tragedy" and other efforts by pro-Turkish forces should not deter our people and its perseverance.

Thus–the three political parties working in the Western Region announce their intention to continue to resolutely and strongly raise the voice of protest and demand and–at the same time–call on the Armenian-American community to take part in Genocide commemoration events and continue their participation in the Armenian Cause.

By relentlessly continuing to pursue the just aspirations and rights of the Armenian people–we–once again–underscore the imperative for continuing the territorial deman’s of the Armenian people–with the aim of gathering the Armenian nation in its historic homeland.

No one can derail the just pursuit of Armenian rights. We must continue our efforts–until Turkey takes responsibility for its actions.
