GLENDALE–The Armenian Relief Society Western Region’s Javakhk Fund organized a clothing drive on Saturday and Sunday–which yielded more than 167 containers of clothing to be sent to the Armenian-populated region of Georgia through the United Armenian Fund.
On both days–from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. volunteers from the ARS gathered at the Western Regional headquarters and accepted clothing donations collected by ARS members–chapters and community members.
Members of the Armenian Youth Federation boxed the collected clothes for shipment to Armenia–in order for Javakhk Fund officials to distribute throughout the region.
Committee chairperson Haigoush Keghinian-Kohler expressed gratitude to all participants in the clothing drive and through their contribution assisted this worthwhile cause.
