YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenian and Turkish journalists are going to discuss the issues of covering Armenian-Turkish relations in the press at a roundtable in Turkey. The arrangement will be held within the framework of a joint program of the Yerevan Press Club (YPC) with the Association of Diplomatic Correspondents of Turkey and with the support of the Center for Global Peace of the American University (Washington). A number of meetings of Armenian journalists with the political–public and business circles of Turkey are also expected.
According to Boris Navasardian–president of the Yerevan Press Club–the Armenian side prepared a report for discussion–which presents how Turkey’s attitude to the Karabakh conflict is covered in Armenian press. The problem of Genocide–as well as the discussion of the draft law on legal guarantees of the protection of the memory of the Genocide victims will be presented. According to the YPC president–there are no disagreemen’s in covering the given problems in the Armenian press–with some exceptions–for example–in the estimation of the work of the Turkish-Armenian Reconciliation Commission.
