Greece Hopes to Improve Relations With Turkey

ATHENS (Armenpress)–Greece expressed hope on July 15 that its relationship with neighboring Turkey would go on improving. Greece’s Foreign Minister Georgios Papandreu sent a message to the newly appointed Turkish Foreign Minister Sukru Sina Gurel in which he expresses hope that relations between the two counties will continue in line with initiatives launched for the mutual benefits of the two peoples.

Sukru Gurel has replaced the 62- year old Ismail Cem who resigned last Thursday from his post as Ecevit’s foreign minister. He announced Friday that he was creating a party made up of 46 lawmakers who have quit Ecevit’s party since Monday.
