Construction of Armenian Churches in Russia Begins

KRASNODAR (Yerkir)–Bishop Movses Movsisian of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Southern Russia announced plans for the construction and renovation of Armenian churches throughout the regions of Southern Russia during a press conference on July 22.

According to Bishop Movsisian–the consecration of the St. Sarkis Church in the Krasnodar region of Koufan will take place during upcoming Spring–followed by annointmen’s of the Armenian churches of Biantigors–Maikov and Koufan Touafsev.

Projects for the Stavrobol and Daghsdan regions are in progress–where the Armenian church of Derbendi was established during the 4th century. The ground-blessing ceremony where the church in Sochi will be built is projected for Spring–while construction will begin for the new church in the city of Boudenovski.

The Armenian Apostolic Church of Southern Russia is planning to acquire an administrative center in Kransodar–where related construction projects will begin this year.
