Anti Terrorist Struggle and Migration Issues Discussed in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A one-day conference entitled "Struggle Against Terrorism: measures for securing identity and travel documen’s–prevention of documen’s forgery and their use," organized by the OSCE and Armenian foreign affairs ministry–opened in Yerevan July 24 with the representatives of the Armenian government–parliament and interested ministries–foreign experts and ambassadors participating.

The co-chairman of the conference–head of the consular department of the foreign affairs ministry Armen Yeganian said that the issues–included on the agenda of the conference were important and urgent.

Yeganian said that among them illegal migration–human trafficking and forgery of documen’s can be mentioned. Yeganian added that after the tragic events of September 11–reinforcement of borders–supervision of business migration–discovering false documen’s–signing required international documen’s and exchange of information became imperative for the countries–involved in the struggle against terrorism–as well as Armenia.

The OSCE Ambassador Roy Reeve said that the conference was to educate local specialist–as the experts arrived from different countries present the legislative and practical approaches of their countries to the issues–discussed in the conference. Reeve said that one of the major aims of the conference was to get acquainted with the measures directed to these issues in Armenia–as well as to outline the most efficient ways of regulating the above mentioned problems.
