Famous Iranian-Armenian artist Haroutiun Minasian–best known for his ability to capture seascapes–passed away in his home in Tehran–Iran on Monday–July 29.
Born in 1910 in the city of Resht on the Caspian sea shore–Minasian’s art was put on display in numerous shows in Tehran between 1930-52. He participated in both the 1958 Venice International Art Show and the 1964 art display organized for the celebration of Shakespeare’s 400th birthday.
A student of renowned artist Hovanness Aivazovski–Minasian has been called "The Last Mohican" of the Iranian-Armenian seascape masters.
A member of the Iranian-Armenian Writers Union and a respected figure in theatrical life–Minasian–who also was an educator– had been an employee of Alik Newspaper for many years.
