WASHINGTON–D.C.–On August 1st–2002–the US Senate–by a vote of 64-34–passed the "2002 Trade Law," which allows Armenia more access to American trade–reported the Armenian Embassy’s Press Office.
It had already passed through the House of Representative on June 26–by a vote of 215-212. The legislation allows Armenia to increase exports to the United States by eliminating tariffs on textiles and jewelry.
The legislation will go into effect when President George Bush signs it into law.
