YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Seven months ahead of 2003 presidential election–three Armenian parties out of a more than a dozen opposition forces are trying to build a stronger alliance in a bid to reconcile on a single candidate.
These parties are the Communist Party–the Hanrapetutyun (Republic) and the People’s Party of Armenia (PPA) which are said to be conducting a series of intensive talks to choose a candidate and design their electoral strategy.
A recent session of the Communist party has reportedly prepared a statement which is going to be released soon–in which the Communists say that only the change of the current authorities would bring in new forces that would be able to secure revival of economy and improve the social life in general.
