Rep. Simmons Joins Congressional Caucus

WATERTOWN–MA–Representative Robert Simmons (R-CT 2nd) today became the newest member of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues reported the Armenian National Committee of America Eastern Region (ANCA ER). With his entrance into the Caucus–its membership becomes 122.

"We welcome Representative Simmons joining the Armenian Issues Caucus and look forward to working with the Congressman on a number of issues of special concern to his Armenian American constituents," stated Arppie Charkoudian–Chairperson of the Armenian National Committee of Connecticut.

The first-term Congressman was elected to the House of Representatives in the November 2000 general election. Rep. Simmons serves on the Armed Services Committee–the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee–and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Founded in 1995–the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues is a bipartisan forum for the discussion of policies to foster increased cooperation between the United States and Armenian governmen’s and to strengthen the enduring bonds between the American and Armenian peoples.
