Opening of Aghbalian Homenetmen Sports and Cultural Complex in Lebanon

BEIRUT (Yerkir)–"This sports and cultural complex is brilliant evidence of how the Armenian Revolutionary Federation–with its commitment and consistent work–can implement–with great devotion–an excellent project utilizing collective efforts," stated ARF Bureau Chairman Hrant Markarian at the opening of the ‘Aghbalian-Homenetmen’ sports and cultural complex and ‘Atom and Stella Tnjukian’ stadium in Lebanon.

Catholicos Aram I–Lebanese Parliament member Michel Mer– also representing President Emil Lahud–Lebanese Parliament member Antoine Hartar–ARF Central Committee representative Hovig Mkhitarian–ARF members and top government officials attended the opening of the Complex.

The completion of the structure was successful through the dedicated efforts of the ARF and Homenetmen and other organizations in Lebanon.

Representing the President of Lebanon–Mer said that this complex specifically added the initiatives the ARS has launched in Lebanon. "This ancient [Armenian] nation that has turned its weakness into strength and never forgotten it cause–has always contributed to social–economic–trade and sports development of this country."

On behalf of the ARF Lebanon Central Committee–Mkhitarian thanked all those contributing to this endeavor and said that the appearance of the building was not important; rather it was the value and importance of the endeavor that is significant.

Catholicos Aram I of Cilicia said that the complex provided valuable evidence of the collective will and faith of Lebanese Armenia’s–who should continue to participate in all realms of Lebanese life.

Contributors were noted at a party at Felesia Hotel–following the opening; an additional $850,000 was raised during the party.
