‘Ararat’ in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Atom Egoyan’s ‘Ararat’ continues to play at the Moscow Theater in Yerevan where it has been shown approximately 150 times over a 40 day period–with usually three showings per day–according to theater director Martin Adoyan. To date–approximately 40,000 people have paid to see it.

Not included in the figures are six free viewings–three for senior citizens–and one each for cinematographers–journalists and for soldiers who have fought for the liberation struggle.

Also not included are those viewings at the amphitheater of the cinema where the film has been showing free for needy individuals unable to purchase tickets.

Present figures have exceeded both the director’s and cinema’s expectations.
