LOS ANGELES-BASED ROCK STATION KROQ TO AIR A LIVE INTERVIEW WITH SERJ TANKIAN AND ATOM EGOYAN DURING THE KEVIN AND BEAN SHOW-TUESDAY–NOVEMBER 12 AT 8:30AM
LOS ANGELES (JAA Release)–World famous KROQ 106.7–the popular rock station based in Los Angeles–will air a live interview with Canadian Armenian filmmaker Atom Egoyan and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian on Tuesday–November 12 at 8:30AM. The interview–taking place on the Kevin and Bean Show–will focus on Egoyan’s newest film–"Ararat," scheduled for release on the weekend of November 15 in Los Angeles and New York. It will air the same day as the sold-out November 12 premiere at Hollywood’s Arc Light Theater–sponsored by the American Film Institute.
"Junior Achievement of Armenia (JAA) is pleased to be a sponsor of the American Film Institute’s premiere of ‘Ararat’ and to have played a role in setting up the interview," commented Cynthia Tusan–founder of JAA. "When we approached the AFI with the idea–they were very enthusiastic. Both Serj and Atom are our community’s strongest voices on Genocide awareness–and we thought that teaming them up would be terrific publicity for the film. Plus–Kevin and Bean have helped to promote System of a Down’s music for years–with KROQ being the band’s largest audience."
Tusan noted that the radio station is also home to the "Armenian Comedian," a regular guest on the morning program–"showing that Kevin and Bean know something about Armenia’s."
"The Armenian National Committee–another sponsor of the premiere– introduced the two artists a few weeks ago [at their annual banquet]. With the entire community working together–we were able to make this interview a reality," concluded Tusan.
