Nine Convicted for Armenian Cemetery Vandalism

KRASNODAR (Yerkir)–According to the "Yerkramas" newspaper–nine youth who vandalized the Armenian cemetery in the Krasnodar region of Russia in April 2002–have been convicted in accordance with Section 244 of the Russian Criminal Code.

All nine were found guilty. Eight of them received two years probation while the ninth–Rustam Khudaberdiev was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment.

Remarkably–Alexander Tkachov–the governor of the Kuban region during his visit to Armenia back in August–had said that all those who had vandalized the Armenian cemetery had–at that time–already punished.
