Communique: New Pasadena Church to Hold First Liturgy

We would like to inform the religious and honorable community of Pasadena and surrounding areas that the first Holy Mass in the new Pasadena St. Sarkis Armenian Church will be conducted this Sunday–December 15th. The church is located at 58 S. Sierra Madre–Pasadena.

After more than seventeen years of leasing property–we are now proud owners of a new Church–purchased earlier this month. We hope that the new church will serve as a birthplace of our souls and the fortress for our faith.

Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian will officiate the first Liturgy in the new church–and deliver the day’s sermon.

Although the church has not been consecrated–in accordance to the traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church–the Sacred blessing may–nevertheless–be conducted with the consecration of a cornerstone; this has precedence in the Armenian church.

In the coming months–the new church will be remodeled to conform to Armenian Apostolic rules and Architectural norms. We extend our gratitude to all the parishioners and devotees who have supported the pursuit of our long-time dream–both financially and morally.

We call our faithful and benevolent community to attend the very first Holy Badarak to pray o God and be united in new pursuits.
