Bishop Vatche Iknadiosian Passes Away

ETCHMIADZIN (Armenpress)-The Holy See of Etchmiadzin reported that Bishop Vatche Iknadiosian passed away on January 6 in the French city of Marseilles. The spiritual leader served the Marseilles-based St. Thaddeus and Bartholomew–as well as St. Sahag and St. Mashdots churches for many years.

Bishop Vatche Iknadiosian was born in 1939 in Beirut. He received his preliminary education at the Holy See of Cilicia Seminary and later at the Patriarchate of St. Hagop in Jerusalem. From 1969 to 1966 he studied theology in one of Paris’s catholic institutions.

Bishop Iknadiosian was the author of several books–including "Our Holy Mass" and "Armenian Manuscripts and Toros Roslin."

The final blessing and funeral ceremonies for Bishop Iknadiosian will take place January 13 at the Holy Translators Church of Marseilles.
