Slovak Parliament Expected to Acknowledge Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN (Armenpress)– Having lobbied the National Council of Slovakia for almost two years–Slovakia’s Armenian community said it holds high hopes that the Council will officially recognize the Armenian Genocide.

"I have great expectations that Slovakia’s Parliament will acknowledge the 1915 Armenian Genocide this year," said the leader of Slovakia’s Armenian community Ashot Grigorian–who also serves as the head of a local lobbying organization. "The prerequisites now exist to crown our efforts successfully–but the process has been slowed as a result of the current international situation–" Grigorian said.
