ANCC Meets with Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister

TORONTO – Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance John Manly–met with an Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) delegation to discuss Armenian Genocide recognition efforts of the Canadian Government and Canadian Parliament–as well as Canadian-Armenian economic and political relations.

Apkar Mirakian–Aris Babikian and ANCC Toronto Office Director Vache Iskejian comprised the ANCC delegation.

The ANCC delegation also presented a memorandum to the Deputy Prime Minister about the pending issue of a Canadian Embassy operating in Yerevan.

Overall–Mr. Manly was positive during discussions–and ensured the delegation that he understood those vital issues of concern for Canadian-Armenia’s.

The parties also spoke about the governing Liberal Party’s upcoming convention–and Manly’s efforts to head the party.
