World Vision And Aram I Discuss Iraq Aid Strategy

ANTELIAS–A delegation of World Vision International met His Holiness Aram I on Tuesday 15 April at his residence in Antelias.

The delegation included the vice president of the international humanitarian organization David Robinson–and the regional director Brose Mansor. The group focused on the humanitarian work of World Vision in Iraq. His Holiness outlined his perception of humanitarian assistance to be organized in post-war Iraq–emphasizing the following:

– An overall and realistic assessment must be made by highlighting priority needs.

– In order to provide efficient and consistent service to the people–humanitarian organizations working in Iraq must collaborate closely and organize logistics.

– Humanitarian assistance should go to all the people of Iraq–without discrimination.

– In helping the needy–a working relationship must be established with local civil and religious authorities–taking into consideration local sensitivities.
