TBILISI (Armenpress)–Representatives of Georgia-based Armenian non-governmental organizations (NGOs)–including youth–women’s and education groups–called on Georgia’s parliament Monday to step up activities in officially recognizing the 1915 Armenian genocide.
The head of the Armenian Community of Georgia Arnold Stepanian–revealed that a meeting of Armenian NGO’s adopted a letter directed to the chair of Georgia’s parliament Nino Burjanidze–urging her to push for official recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The letter emphasizes that official recognition by Georgia would not only be applauded by Armenia’s of Georgia–but also the international community.
