NATO Armenia Relations Reviewed

YEREVAN(Armenpress)–President of Armenia Robert Kocharian held a meeting today with the Secretary General of NATO George Robertson and his delegation. The sides discussed current Armenia-NATO relations–and the process as well as the possibility of enlargement of mutual cooperation within the "Partnership for Peace" program.

Emphasizing his willingness to continue the cooperation under the "Partnership for Peace" program–President Kocharian said he expected that the balanced politics of NATO in the region will encourage stability and peace in the Caucasus. Robertson emphasized the importance of Armenia’s participation in the programs implemented within the framework of NATO and the Euro-Atlantic partnership.

The Secretary General stressed that the Caucasus is considered a region of utmost importance in terms of securing stability in Eurasia.
