Anti Armenian Graffiti in a Russian Town

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–Law enforcement officials in the town of Ishim in the Tiumen region of Russia’speculate that anti-Armenian graffiti throughout the town’s streets may result in ethnic clashes–reported the Russian language Armenian newspaper Yerkramas. Officials also said that the authors of the offensive graffiti are "evidently irresponsible people" and that the graffiti is likely the continuation of an earlier confrontation between local youth gangs and Armenia’s.

A criminal investigation has already been launched in the case of the clash between Armenia’s and locals that took place on June 16 in the town’s square. Another investigation has been opened to explore the anti-Armenian graffiti.
