ARF Youth at IUSY European Committee Meeting

YEREVAN (ARF Press Office)–Two Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Youth (one from Armenia’s Nigol Aghbalian Student Union–the other from France’s Nor Serount Youth Organization) participated in the International Union of Socialist (IUSY) European Committee Meeting that took place in Vienna–Austria October 3-5. The ARF youth from Armenia was the only representative from the Caucasus region.

The delegates discussed the finalization of the IUSY document "Global Governance for Peace" that proposes changing society through political regulation–social services–democratic decision making–public investment strategies–protection of human rights–and fair wealth redistribution.

Delegates from thirty-five European countries reviewed establishment of peace–security–justice and protection of human rights–proposing reforms in the United Nations to overcome challenges.

In their review of proposed by-laws–the ARF youth stressed the importance of including respect for minority rights–protection of human rights and strengthening the international criminal court–as a part of future IUSY strategy.

hey specifically stressed that planners and perpetrators–and any one involved in carrying out massacres and genocides–swiftly be called to justice by the international criminal court–in order to prevent future tragedies.

The delegates also discussed preparation for the upcoming IUSY Congress.
