Three Armenia’s Elected to Georgia’s Parliament

AKHALKALAKI (A-Info)–Based on preliminary results of the November 2 parliamentary elections in Georgia–three Armenia’s from the predominately Armenian-populated provinces of Akhalkalaki–Nimotsminda–and Tsalka were elected to the Georgian parliament.

More than fifty percent of electors voted for Hamlet Shakhbekian in Akhalkalaki–sixty percent for Henzel Mkoyan in Nimotsminda–and fifty percent for Hayk Melkonian in Tsalka.

Results from some polling stations in the Akhalkalaki province may be invalidated because of poor voter turnout which was less than the required one-third of registered voters.
