Armenia on Track for CE Commitmen’s

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The head of Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Armenia (PACE) Armen Rustamian–told a briefing on Friday that the PACE winter session in January will discuss the pace of Armenia’s fulfillment of its Council of Europe commitmen’s–adding that the country should not face any problems.

"We have presented our approaches regarding suggestions and obligations Armenia has to respect," he said–noting serious steps forward–including preliminary passage of the bills on alternative military services and protector of human rights.

Rustamian said that a PACE suggestion to implement constitutional reforms before the first half of 2005 does not seem feasible because of technical problems. He also said that Armenian authorities will register Jehovah’s Witnesses only after the organization brings its regulations in conformity with Armenian legislation.
