Museum Institute of Armenian Genocide Prepares for 90th Anniversary Commemoration

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–A state commission formed last year to organize national events marking the 90th Anniversary of Armenian Genocide–held its first session on Tuesday to review suggestions by the Museum-Institute of Armenian Genocide.

Museum director Lavrenti Barsegian–who is also a member of the commission–said the package of suggestions will be available to Armenian diplomatic missions abroad–all Dioceses Armenian Apostolic Churches–Armenian community organizations–and to the media.

The Museum-Institute suggested inviting representatives of culture and youth–education and science ministries–the National Academy of Sciences–and Armenia’s National Public TV and Radio Council–to join the process of organizing the 90th anniversary commemorations–to include scientific conferences–round-table discussions–and other large events.

The state commission is chaired by Prime Minister Andranik Margarian–and was created according to a decree signed by President Robert Kocharian.
