ARS Canada Raises $30 000 to Assist Iraq?s Armenian Communities

MONTREAL (ARS)–The Regional Executive of Canada’s Armenian Relief Society held fundraising activities in Montreal and Toronto to benefit Iraqi Armenia’s who face dire times as a result of the War. The organization’s ten chapters in Canada–sister organizations–and the Prelacy of Canada’s Armenian Apostolic Church–with its five churches–participated in the effort.

The first round of fundraising was held in Montreal–at the home of Armen and Kathy Kazanjian. Sixty-five individuals contributed $11,000. In Toronto–the ARS Roubina chapter’s committee for Iraq’s Armenia’s–along with Father Meghrig Parikian–raised $16,000.

Along with other contributions–ARS Canada raised $30,000. The ARS Central Executive will forward all sums raised throughout its various ARS regions to the Armenian Prelacy of Iraq. Assistance will be provided to Armenian communities in Baghdad–Basra–and Mosul.

Always serving the humanitarian needs of Armenian communities throughout the world–the ARS has–once again–provided unreserved assistance when necessary.
