President Bush Appoints New Ambassador to Armenia

WASHINGTON (Armenpress)–President George W. Bush announced Thursday his nomination of John Marshall Evans of Virginia as the new US Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia.

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service and a Yale University graduate–Evans currently serves as Director of the State Department’s Office of Russian Affairs. He previously served as Director of the Office of Analysis for Russia and Eurasia in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
