Carl Terzian Honored for over Four Decades of Community Service

LOS ANGELES–Carl R. Terzian–founder and chairman of Carl Terzian Associates–will be honored by The League for Children (TLC)–a fund raising auxiliary for Children s Bureau–for his more than forty years of outstanding community service at TLC S annual family event Polo in the Park to be held Saturday–June 18–at 12:30 p.m. at the Will Rogers Historic State Park in Pacific Palisades.

Proceeds from the event will benefit prevention programs aimed at helping thousands of abused and neglected children served by Children s Bureau throughout Southern California.

Carl Terzian has successfully provided public relations counsel to causes–corporations–individuals–and institutions for more than thirty-five years. Prior to establishing his firm in 1969–Terzian served as an international goodwill ambassador for President Eisenhower and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles; director of public and church relations for the Lutheran Hospital Society of Southern California; civic affairs consultant to Coast Savings and Loan Association; dean and professor of government and speech at Woodbury University; and public affairs director for architect Charles Luckman.

Over the years–Terzian has been president of the California Pediatrics Center and the Southern California Youth Leadership Foundation; vice president of the Los Angeles Business Council and Project Concern; regent of California Lutheran University; trustee of Woodbury University; an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association; and a director of the Americanism Educational League–Armenian Film Foundation–Boy Scouts of America–California Museum of Science and Industry Advisory Board–Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge–Goodwill Industries–March of Dimes–Salvation Army and Volunteer Center of Los Angeles.

He has been honored for civic and professional leadership by Congress–Her Majesty the Queen of England–California Assembly and Senate–City and County of Los Angeles–USC–Boy Scouts of America–California Junior Chamber of Commerce–Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce–Los Angeles Business Council–United Way–and the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.

The comprehensive programs focus on parents with kids (newborns through age 12) and include in-home and center-based counseling; child and parent development; health; child and parent education groups; tutoring and reading programs; and community resource referrals.
