Exhibition Marking ARF’s 115th Anniversary opens at National Library

YEREVAN (Yerkir)–In a series of events marking the 115th anniversary of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF)–an exhibition on ARF history opened Monday at the National Library in Yerevan.

The exhibit features displays about the founders of the ARF–its program and charter–resolutions–heroic actions–national-liberation struggle–as well as literature and documen’s on the First Republic of Armenia.

Most materials are the property of the National Library–though some have been provided by the ARF.

"The party can proudly say that during its 115-year-long history–it has launched about 250 publications–hundreds of books–thousands of research papers and memoirs," an opening message by Library director Davit Sargsian read.

"Many of these publications have been banned in Armenia for 70 years," Doctor of philology–Haykazun Alvrtsian of Yerevan State University noted during the opening.

He said the extensive collection–available for the first time to for public viewing–contains the philosophy of great 19th and 20th centuries Armenian public figures–and the founders of the First Republic.
