Series of Public Events to Protest Azerbaijan’s Anti Armenian Policy Held in London

The Armenian National Committee (ANC) of London organized several events last month to protest the anti-Armenian policies of Azerbaijan.

The first of these events was held in London’s "Navasartian" Center where presenters discussed Azerbaijan’s aggression against Armenia’s over the last 18 years. Speakers detailed Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian actions–such as the massacres in Sumgait in 1988–their actions during the Karabagh conflict–and the recent desecration of the Armenian cemetery in Old Julfa–Nakhichevan.

A special mass was held Sunday–February 25–to honor the victims of Azeri pogroms against Armenia’s that took place in Baku and Sumgait 18 years ago. During mass–the Archbishop gave a personal eyewitness account of the aftermath of the massacres which took place in Azerbaijan.

On February 28–about one hundred people gathered for a vigil in front of the Azeri Embassy in London.

Organizers plan to continue raising awareness about the issue by preparing an information packet detailing Azerbaijan’s actions. This packet will be sent to over 20 governmental organizations and media outlets.
