ANC-PAC Endorses John Garamendi in California Lieutenant Governor’s Election

LOS ANGELES–The Armenian National Committee – Political Action Committee (ANC-PAC) announced its endorsement of , the Democratic Party candidate for California Lieutenant Governor. "John Garamendi’s service to the people of California, specially his steady hand as the Insurance Commissioner, and his vision for this State, make him the best choice for Lieutenant Governor in this year’s elections." remarked Leonard Manoukian, Chairman of the ANC-PAC. "We are certain that if elected, he will serve with the same vigor and dedication which has distinguished his career thus far," Manoukian continued. Garamendi has worked with the Californian Armenian community as the California Insurance Commissioner where he supported and defended efforts by the Armenian American community to recover assets wrongfully withheld by insurance companies from heirs of Armenian Genocide victims. In 2005, he joined the community in welcoming and met with Catholicos Aram I during his pontifical visit to the United States. He also was a participant in and supporter of the ANCA’s 2004 Genocide Prevention Postcard Campaign. In 2003, he also joined the ANC community for its annual April 24th commemorative event in Hollywood. Previously, ANC-PAC has endorsed Garamendi in his 2004 bid for election as California’s Insurance Commissioner, the seat he currently occupies. The ANC-PAC is a non-partisan federally registered political action committee established to support campaign committees for Members of Congress who share the values of the Armenian American community.
