Lincy Official Visits Lebanon to Coordinate $4.5 Million Grant to Schools

BEIRUT (Aztag)–Lincy Foundation Vice-President and Executive Director of the United Armenia Fund Harout Sassounian visited Lebanon to coordinate a recent grant of $4.5 million to all Armenian schools in Lebanon. Accompanied by Armenian Revolutionary Federation Lebanon Central Committee delegation, which included Hovig Mkhitarian and former minister Sebouh Hovnanian, Sassounian met with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud. The Lincy representative told Lahoud that the foundation had allocated $4.5 million for all 28 Armenian schools in Lebanon to assist the educational facilities in the aftermath of this summer’s Israeli attacks on Lebanon. During a meeting at the Shaghzoyan center, the ARF Central Committee praised the Lincy Foundation’s efforts to assist the Lebanese-Armenian schools. As part of his visit to Lebanon, Sassounian visited the Bourdj Hammoud City Hall, the Armenian Relief Cross clinic and held meetings with leaders of the Armenian Prelacy of Lebanon, the Catholic Archdiocese of Lebanon and the Armenian Evangelical Church. Sassounian also visited area schools and community centers, where he briefed community members about UAF activities.
