Genocide Monument Inaugurated in Rome

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenian ambassador to Italy, Ruben Shugarian, senior officials of the city of Rome, senior clergy and representatives of various non-governmental organizations gathered at Rome’s St. Nicholas square Thursday for the unveiling of a monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Speaking at the ceremony Italian officials commended the Armenian community of Italy, while Shugarian thanked the city of Rome saying that Italy serves as a good example of democracy for his country that just celebrated its 15th anniversary of its independence.
