NATO Representatives Arrive in Armenia

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–NATO representatives arrive in Armenia Tuesday to complete the assessment of Armenia’s progress and organization’s Individual Partnership Action Plan. The results of the assessment will be presented to NATO’s Political Committee after which it will be discussed during the joint session of the North-Atlantic Council and Armenia. Meanwhile a defense ministry official said that Armenia’s membership in NATO would not be discussed at a conference next week, since that item did not correspond to the provisions of the IPAP, the results of which were being assessed by NATO representatives. "Official Yerevan has, on many occasions, stated and, once again, repeats that the issue of Armenia’s membership in NATO is not included in the agenda of Armenia’s foreign policy," said the defense ministry spokesman Seyran Shahsuvarian.
