BAKU (Armenpress)–The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Goran Lennmarker told reporters Friday that within the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution, the right to self-determination of ethnic groups must also be prioritized alongside the principle of territorial integrity. "The settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is very important both for the whole region and from the aspect of the region’s integration into Europe," said the OSCE leader. "My report on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will cause numerous discussions. Some may agree and some disagree. Yesterday, I met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. He seemed to agree with some points in the report," Lennmarker told reporters. "The main issue now is to stop occupation and create peaceful relations between the two countries. The returning of refugees and internally displaced persons to the homeland should be ensured. I think both parties are interested in peaceful settlement of the problem. I hope there will be no need to release the last variant of the report on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The problem will be solved and I will not have to draw up a report," he said.
