Burbank Police Chief to be Honored at Burbank ANC Annual Banquet

BURBANK–The police chief of Burbank, the executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America and a climber who scaled Mt. Ararat, will be among the guests at the Armenian National Committee of Burbank’s second Annual Banquet on Friday, May 18 at La Bella Banquet Hall in Burbank. The purpose of the banquet is to bring activists together to recount and celebrate their accomplishmen’s over the past 12 months and to mingle with local city staff members and elected officials, many of whom will be in attendance. More than 300 guests will hear a Washington Update from Keynote Speaker Aram Hamparian, executive director of the ANCA. Burbank Police Chief Tom Hoefel will receive an award for his efforts in working with the Armenian community and Garo Hovassapian will be honored for recently climbing Mt. Ararat. The banquet’s chairwoman is Vicky Marashlian, with California State Assemblymember Paul Krekorian acting as Honorary Chairman. The event will be emceed by Sevana Zetlian. The Burbank ANC is one of the most accomplished chapters of the Armenian National Committee of America, which is the largest and most influential Armenian-American grassroots organization, actively advancing the concerns of the hundreds of thousands of Armenian-Americans. Some highlights for the Burbank ANC over the past year included: continuing its voter registration efforts, producing ALIK TV programs, and partnering with public institutions to promote Genocide awareness.
