YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Armenia’s Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisian, in presenting the government’s plan to the National Assembly Tuesday, said the plans to build a new power plans would move forward.
“The Armenian government is planning to build a second nuclear power plant in Armenia but the plans are in their development stage since the financing, technology and other elemen’s were not yet clear. But it is my conviction that Armenia must have nuclear energy,” the prime minister told the National Assembly, which overwhelmingly approved the government’s plan.
Sarkisian also discussed the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline, saying that plans were underway to expand the newly-opened pipeline to increase its capacity.
