ADL Statement

To the Editor:
As a Jewish man who grew up in America 80 some years ago with many Armenian friends, some of whom lived through the Armenian genocide, and personally told me about the destruction of their families, I wish to add my small voice to the protest over the remarks by Mr. Foxman.
The attempt to placate the Turks by denying the facts about the Armenian Genocide makes me ashamed of those, especially Jews, who compromise themselves in the struggle for truth and justice. The Jews in Turkey will not be helped by ignoring Turkish history. Already the forces of Muslim extremism are infiltrating the Turkish state, and all people other than Muslims are in danger.
We must stand together against these same madmen who threaten both Christians and Jews and anyone else that doesn’t agree with them. Watertown did the right thing and perhaps it will help sme people in the ADL to rethink their attitudes.
