Armenian Defense Minister Shrugs off Azeri Charges of Ceasefire Violation

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–Speaking to reporters at an event that marked the 15-th anniversary of the Armenian army intelligence service, Armenian Defense Minister Mikael Harutunian Monday shrugged off Azerbaijani allegations that Armenian troops violated the ceasefire.
"Since 1994 when the ceasefire agreement was signed Armenian troops have never violated the truce at their own initiative," he said. "The truce is violated sometimes by the Azerbaijani side and we have to retaliate and will retaliate," he said.
The Defense Minister said he would like the Azerbaijani military leadership to take control of its troops so that any violation of the ceasefire can be avoided.
