ARF Representative Says Format of Karabakh Talks Should Change

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Armenian Revolutionary Federation highly assesses the efforts of the Armenian president and diplomats in the Nagorno Karabakh regulation process, National Assembly deputy speaker, member of ARF Bureau Vahan Hovanesian said Tuesday.
Nevertheless, he added, today there is a need to change the format of the negotiations since “in spite of our wish the absence of Karabakh weakens the positions.”
“We must start thinking about ways to return Karbakh back to the negotiation process. We must think about changes in the format of negotiations, especially in instances where we do not see willingness for concessions from the Azeri side,” he noted.
“If Baku refuses to speak with Stepanakert, then Yerevan has nothing to address with Baku,” said Hovanesian.
“In that case we will speak with Ankara. It is obvious that the increasing aggressiveness of Azerbaijan is unleashed by Ankara,” he said.
