Lincy Foundation to Implement $2 Million School Construction Program in Karabakh

LOS ANGELES (Noyan Tapan)–The prospects of a 2 million dollar school construction program to be implemented by the Lincy Foundation in Nagorno Karabakh were discussed Monday during a meeting between Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian and Lincy Foundation Chairman Jey Rakov and Chairman of the United Armenian Fund Harut Sassounian.
President Sahakian expressed gratitude to the Lincy Foundation for its active participation in Artsakh’s socio-economic development and assured that the Karabakh authorities will do their best to further deepen and development of bilateral relations.
During the same day, President Sahakian met with Ara Aharonian, the Chairman of the Ramkavar-Azatakan Party’s U.S. Western Region, where the two discussed the current process and prospects of bilateral relations.
The President welcomed the party’s programs in the sphere of education, emphasizing, its direction in the financing of educational gran’s, technical equipment and the overall expenditures of the educational center in Stepanakert. Sahakian also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the political sphere.
The President also met with representatives from the Armenian Relief and Development Association headed by Association’s Chairman Steve Lazarian.
The meeting participants presented Sahakian with programs for the construction of modern houses in Karabakh. Sahakian said the proposal will be seriously considered and a respective conclusion will be given.
Meeting also with the Chairman of the Hay Pharmacy Company Petros Taghlian to discuss the prospects Karabakh’s pharmacy sector, Sahakian underscored the Hay Pharmacy Company’s role in assisting in the development.
