La Canada, Calif.–The Arpa Foundation for Film, Music and Art will be hosting an art exhibition introducing the international artist Jean Paul Guiragossian at Stephanie’s Art Gallery in La Canada, Ca on Thursday December 6. The exhibition will showcase oil on canvas, oil pastels and mixed media paintings. Proceeds will benefit AFFMA.
Born on March 20 1967, Guiragossian is the son of internationally renowned painter Paul Guiragossian. Growing up in his father’s studio, he began painting at a very young age, inheriting his father’s talents.
Guiragossian attended Art School in Vienna between 1979 and 1980, after which he enrolled in the Lebanese University of Fine Arts for two years, moving on to attend the Ontario College of Art in 1984.
Between 1972 and 2003 Guiragossian has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout North America, Western Europe, the Middle East, and Japan.
Guiragossian’s work has grown considerably throughout the years. He has succeeded in directly transposing "nature" in his style, which is sincerely expressive and free.
Immediately striking, is the glowing brilliance of colors, an effect recognized to be "highly seductive" and mood changing. His wide and violent rhythms, radiates a fresh and vivacious sense of nature.
Guiragossian’s paintings prove an almost physical, interior shout. His mastery of bright, multicolored pictures reveals his energy. The colors in his paintings express a unique freedom.
