Fourth Women’s International Film Festival Kicks off in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)-The Fourth Women’s International Film Festival kicked off its 5-day program Wednesday at the Hovhannes Tumanian Yerevan State Puppet Theatre. This year’s theme is the "Woman." The woman and her problems are at the center of attention for the festival, said Ohanian. "The film festival tends to contribute to the development of the art of women," Ohanian remarked. "They create mainly in the genre of documentary films in the sphere of cinema, as it does not demand great sums." Almost forty films from 17 countries, including Spain, Israel, Venezuela, Russia, will be featured in the film festival. According to Festival director Mariam Ohanian, the festival will showcase a wide range of genres, including feature films, documentary films, short films, and animation films.
